Flipside was recently asked to participate in the Boston- area unveiling of the highly anticipated 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman at the grand opening of Mini of Peabody. Having previously played for events put on by the esteemed Lyon-Waugh Automotive Group – who also own LandRover, BMW, Porsche and Audi dealerships in the area- we knew to expect a fantastic evening.
Lori Connelley, Director of Marketing for Lyon Waugh was excited to have Flipside back: “People are still talking about the last party…and it’s been months!! It’s because your band is so amazing.” Everything was just perfect: the right group of Mini enthusiasts and owners, great food and drinks and, of course, the right band on a perfect evening.
The event kicked off with a presentation in the new showroom and then over 350 guests moved into the state-of the art- shop where auto lifts were utilized as serving tables. Flipside singers Elan Trotman, Tania Jones and Mark Love arrived in style, chauffeured into the party by owner Bill Currie, revealing the previously unseen Mini Countryman. The band kicked into a spirited dance set and played requests for songs by Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Journey and naturally some prime Rolling Stones to celebrate the Mini’s British heritage. It was a truly shagadelic evening.
